FBC Leadership

From our Pastor:

If the church is to have direction and purpose, leadership is indispensable. Spiritual Leadership has been defined as the development of relationships with the people of a Church in such a way that individuals and the congregation are enabled to formulate and achieve biblically compatible goals that meet real needs. Another definition offered is the exercise of one’s spiritual gifts under the call of God to serve a certain group of people in achieving the goals God has given them toward the end of glorifying Christ. Faithway Baptist Church has been blessed with good and godly leadership, for which we praise the Lord. As Pastor, it is my privilege to labor alongside godly men who have the common goal of glorifying Christ in our local assembly, the Church.

The Elders are appointed in accordance with scriptural qualifications and spiritual giftedness. We serve as one but yet diverse. We function as pastors/teachers as well as bishops for this local assembly.

The serving Deacons are appointed in accordance with the Scriptural standards as found in Acts 6:3-6 as well as in I Timothy 3:8-13. These men serve in a number of ways such as Deacon care, Pastoral Advisers, Mentors in various ministries of the Church, care and supervision of the facilities, just to name a few. Faithway Baptist Church could not continue in its growth without the devotion and dedication to serve that these men have and exemplify. Please allow me the privilege of introducing the Elders and Deacons:

Elders:

  • James Bledsoe
  • Dennis Phelps
  • Eddie Norris

Deacons:

  • Larry Blackburn
  • Mark Bracewell
  • Daniel Connor
  • Brad Houck – Treasurer
  • Ed Huffman
  • Jamey Lunsford – Chairman
  • Luke Mallory

I thank God for His goodness and blessings upon these men and their families as they serve together for the good of the Church and the glory of God.
